Well….. not quite!
But I did get a BIG parcel delivered yesterday:
Is it just me that gets all excited when parcels come, even when I know exactly what’s in them?! (And even when they bite me – I’ve had paper cuts before but never had a cardboard cut, until then. Grrr)
But then again, look at this lot, straight from Goodness Direct:
Some old favourites like the almond butter and the flour and some I’d been wanting to try, like the date syrup, GF jumbo oats and Meridian peanut butter.
Meridian almond butter is officially the best almond butter in the world… ever. And if anyone even tried to suggest I’ve only tried one or two others…
he’d be right 🙂
But as it is that good, and as this pb is the same make, and its only ingredient is peanuts, I thought I’d give it a go…
It just goes to show how keen I am to find out the truth that almost before the camera had flashed, the lid was off the jar. 0.456 of a nanosecond later, my finger was in it 🙂
And… oh my god.
How did I not like peanut butter till a few months ago?! I ate a couple of spoonsful straight out of the jar before I forced myself to put the lid on and move it out of sight… this stuff is serious.
So. When I started this blog, I saw I could sign up as an affiliate of the website so I thought I might as well. If anyone clicks through here to there and orders, I get 6% of what they spend off my next order (or something like that… I’m not about to give up the day job!)
Then I got an email a while ago offering discount to me and anyone who goes through here to get there. If you spend £35, you get £10 off. And as orders of £35 and over get free delivery, you save another £6.50, which is my kind of deal!
So if you do fancy it, just put in the code 32234299 when you get to the checkout – and that’s valid till March 31!
I’ve already also sampled the jumbo oats. Stupid thing to say but they smell so much more oaty than the others (not like the others smell of cat litter or anything – but you know what I mean 🙂 )
I made pancakes with the oats, apple sauce, an egg white and a pinch of mesquite (think cinnamon would be equally good)
You’ll have to take my word for the fact that there was peanut butter on top after this picture was taken… it didn’t hang around long!
There will be A LOT of that pb in my meals for a while 🙂
What’s your favourite type/brand of nut butter?
I love the meridian peanut butter as it is 100% peanuts- no oil, salt or anything else.
I also love Carleys Organic- they make delicious rainforest butter which is brazils, cashews and macadamias- sooooooo good 🙂
And dark chocolate dreams!
I’ve seen that rainforest one and was so tempted! Might have to give it a go…
And how can I have forgotten Dark Chocolate Dreams??!
Sounds like an awesome deal!! I’m all for trying new nut butters 🙂
My favorite one is Justin’s Chocolate Almond or Maranatha. Both are SO creamy and delicious!
I think I need to stop buying them though, even if only because I’m running out of cupboard space!
Chocolate almond butter though – wow. I need that in my life 🙂
Mail always makes my day!! And ohhhhhh my god, cardboard cuts are the WORST!!
Especially when you spill garlic powder… and when you wipe it up, it gets in the cut. Not good!
Favourite type of nut butter = homemade raw almond butter. 😀 Those pancakes look great by the way!
Thank you they were lovely but verrrry fragile! I might have to try making my own almond butter again too 🙂
My sister didn’t like peanut butter until recently either! How is that possible?! I see you’ve discovered my favorite way to eat it- straight from the spoon 🙂
It’s mad *hangs head in shame* and all those years I’ve missed out 🙂
Oh yes though… straight from the jar? Nothing like it!
Getting packages are the best. Even if you know exactly what’s inside them. Even if you bought it for yourself. Even if its just a textbook for a class.
There’s something about the waiting and the opening that makes it feel like a psuedo-Christmas!
Exactly! However boring it is… glad it’s not just me!
I love Meridian PB too! So much so that I buy it in 1kg containers from Holland and Barratt for the sake of economy. Even those humungous tubs don’t last long though. One of these days I’m going to turn it into OIAB (oats in a bucket hehe). And random packages from health websites make me ludicrously excited, so you’re not alone there either. It’s like browsing a health food shop: I could spend hours in them.
OAIB – love it!
And tell me about it… take me to a Holland and Barratt and I’m happy for hours 🙂
ohmy gosh!! thank you fro that code!!!! i have a HUGE list of items ive been waiting to buy from them- so glad i didnt order it earlier!!
Pleasure! Glad it’ll be useful 🙂
